The Golden Gate Bridge is a lot more impressive in person then it is in pictures. That said, I think the whole city is kind of ugly. The houses are interesting but everything is so close together and hardly any plants.
Joe told the kids that who ever saw the bridge first would get a dollar. They ended up crying and fighting with each other over who would win. Good job Joe. Isaac got so mad he threw his money pouch (we aren't calling it a purse even though it is.) The pouch is full of change and hit me in the head. I was really happy. Ramsey ended up seeing it first and screamed so loud that I nearly had a heart attack. I was afraid we'd get in a car accident.
Joe ended up giving them both a dollar. Joe thought that I was a little insane because I had the kids pose when these guys from India wanted to take a picture of them at the bridge. I totally understand though when you're visiting a different country even the people look different. If I was in China I'd love to have a picture taken with me and the kids with a bunch of Chinese kids. I'm sure it's the same for them showing off a picture of themselves with my little blondies off in America.
We had dinner at Bok Choy Garden and everything was super good. Joe ordered the Spicy Salt and Pepper Tofu. This was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The salty outside made it perfect. I didn't taste any spicy.
I ordered the Spicy Crispy Beef and was super. I liked how thin the "beef" was. It had a pretty good kick to it but Isaac still liked it.
The kids ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken. It was pretty good and Isaac liked it, but it was my least favorite of the dishes.
You can't have Chinese food without some sort of rice. We ordered some Vegetable Fried Rice and it was just as good as everything else.

At the end they gave us these gummy ball things filled with sweet red beans. I have no idea what they were. I'm guessing tapioca of some sort. The kids dug 'em.

Yay, I used to go there! we used to get these taro rolls that were incredible. I'm so jealous you are in SF. We are going to go sometimes this year...just have to pin down a time and plan it!
yes, I have to say, I'm glad to hear you say it. I agree that SF is not a very pretty city. I live about 1.5 hours south in Santa Cruz, and I enjoy a trip to SF now and again - but I'm always glad that I don't live there.
Also, it was nice of you to let your kids pose in a picture with the Indian folks. I actually devoted an entire blog entry to the phenomena of taking pictures with strangers. The unusual faces are just so interesting and wonderful!
